Similar in approach to colleges and universities, Farragut has set in place an extensive emergency and safety management plan. Due to confidential information, this plan is only accessible to current students and parents in our private student and parent portal in Focus.
Waterfront
A major feature that separates Farragut from many other schools is the immediate access to the water. Our waterfront facilities allow students to learn in a unique way and they also give students an opportunity to enjoy the outdoors unlike any other place. Features include:
- The yacht basin and boathouse that is situated on Boca Ciega Bay, well-known in the region for its abundance of marine life including dolphins and manatees
- Fleet of boats including a specially designed marine science boat, sailboats, kayaks, paddleboards, canoes, and more
- Fishing equipment including casting nets, crab cages and fishing poles
Athletic Facilities
Another area where we take pride is our athletic facilities, which have been the training ground for several state champions and future collegiate and professional athletes. Features include:
- Outdoor heated swimming pool that is used year-round by students, faculty and summer campers
- A field house with weight rooms, a wrestling room, athletic trainer’s office, renovated locker rooms, fitness equipment, and athletic offices.
- A recently renovated gymnasium featuring the J.A. Huntley entrance and foyer addition
- A multi-purpose stadium used for soccer and lacrosse teams with home and visitor sitting areas
- An eight-lane, state-of-the-art rubberized track surrounding the athletic field
- Baseball and softball diamonds with separate batting cages for baseball and softball
- Two outdoor tennis courts
- Two outdoor basketball courts that have recently been resurfaced and repainted; basketball courts feature adjustable glass backboards and sturdy rims
- Two sand volleyball courts
