Students who are involved in athletics learn to manage their time, continue to stay active, and also create bonds far beyond the classroom. At Farragut we believe in producing well-rounded individuals.
At Admiral Farragut Academy, a majority of the student body is involved in either sports, clubs, drill, or the arts, or all four. At times, you will see a student hustling from one practice to another event. We take pride in producing well-rounded individuals ready to conquer the world.
Our BlueJackets like to win, but more than that, they just love to compete. Our coaches, players and parent spectators all place great value in good sportsmanship. Win or lose, we will do it with dignity and honor.
This past school year, several athletic teams set new standards in their respective sports as two student-athletes won state titles in wrestling, the girls track team claimed its first title in school history and the softball team elevated the status of females at Farragut by reaching the region finals.

“The Admiral”
Meet our mascot “The Admiral” to celebrate our naval history. The school is named after David Glasgow Farragut (July 5, 1801 – August 14, 1870) who was a flag officer of the United States Navy during the American Civil War. He was the first rear admiral, vice admiral, and admiral in the United States Navy. He is remembered for his order at the Battle of Mobile Bay, in which he was victorious, usually paraphrased as “Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead” in U.S. Navy tradition.
