Farragut partners with St. Petersburg Police Department to bring Police Resource Center to campus
Dear Farragut Family,
I am pleased to be able to share with you details of a new partnership with the St. Petersburg Police Department. You may have noticed the new signs around the entrances to the school indicating that we now house a “Police Resource Center” on campus. As a result, you may see police officers on our campus including marked and unmarked police vehicles in assigned parking spaces.
The development of this resource center will greatly enhance the security on campus, especially into the evenings and overnight, where local police officers can now stop at Farragut for a break, to fill out paperwork, or have a meal. The center will not be open to the public for police services and will not be advertised or listed as a place for the public to come for police services. It will, however, further strengthen our partnership with the St Petersburg Police department, and allow us to benefit from an additional security presence that keeps our campus safe for all.
I am genuinely excited about this new partnership. Our students will, no doubt, meet and get to know some of these local public servants over the course of the school year as they integrate into our school community. Please, take the time to encourage all students to share a warm welcome to them.
Warm regards,
Dr. Adam Holden
President, Admiral Farragut Academy
